Ambivalence Movienight

Poster for a film event as part of Delia Imbriani’s bachelor thesis, which examines “ambivalence” as a stylistic device in art, especially in the medium of film. As part of a series of eight exemplary titles, “The Lobster” and “A Serious Man” were selected to explore the various facets of ambivalence in film and make them tangible. Both films reflect the tension between comedy and tragedy as well as order and chaos and thus open up new perspectives on the contradictory nature of modern life.
